Option 1: Elder David A. Bednar: Living in Revelation (57 minutes)

Summary: In April 2011, Elder David A. Bednar made an analogy in general conference of light switches and sunrises to personal revelation and receiving the Lord’s guidance in our lives. This landmark talk inspired Latter-day Saints everywhere in how they seek and recognize Heavenly Father’s presence in their lives. In the years since that address, Elder Bednar has spoken around the world about personal revelation. As he’s done so, he’s heard one question from Church members more than any other: “How do I know if it’s me or the Spirit?” In this week’s episode, we hear Elder Bednar’s answer to this question and discuss other thoughts related to the principles of revelation.

Option 5: Faith Matters: The Honest Truth About Messy Families.

Summary: Drawing from his own experience with his own “messy” family, Joseph speaks openly about moments of despair, including the heartache of watching loved ones, including his own children, struggle with addiction, estrangement, and other crises.

But at the heart of his message is a radical idea: that the phrase “All is well” can be true even in the face of chaos and imperfection. He challenges the traditional “brochure” image of family success, reminding us that not even the families in our sacred texts had it all together. Through powerful stories of redemption, both from his own family and the lives transformed at The Other Side Academy, Joseph encourages us to rethink what it means to succeed as families, and to embrace waiting as part of God’s divine work.
