About Heidi
Heidi Shaw was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, but has called Utah home since she was two. A proud graduate of Bonneville High (Go Lakers!) and Weber State University—where she cheered and met her future husband, a “muscular hunk with a killer mullet”—Heidi has always had a passion for people and teaching. She and Mitch were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and raised three amazing children together.
In 2012, Heidi’s husband, Mitch, was killed in a construction accident. That heartbreaking loss deepened her faith and taught her more about the Savior and the power of His Atonement than anything else in her life.
Heidi earned her bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from BYU–Idaho and recently completed her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Leadership from Weber State University. She has served as a full-time seminary and institute teacher with the Church Educational System for over eight years and feels incredibly grateful to teach youth and young adults about Jesus Christ.
When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her running marathons, biking in the LOTOJA relay, hiking Utah trails, waterskiing, working in her yard, or spending time with her grandkids. Heidi loves the Savior and feels blessed every day to teach and testify of Him.
