About Heidi

Heidi was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and moved back to Utah when she was two-years-old. She was raised in Riverdale and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1987. After high school, she attended Weber State University. She was a member of the cheerleading team. While attending Weber State, every Tuesday and Thursday while making the trek from the Social Science building to the Lind Lecture Hall, Heidi would pass a muscular hunk with a killer mullet. Eventually, this mulleted muscular hunk asked her out and they fell in love. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 24, 1989. They have three beautiful children and three grandchildren.

In 2012, Heidi’s husband, Mitch was killed in a construction accident. His death has taught her more about the Savior and the atonement than anything else in her life.

Heidi has worked as a seminary teacher for the Church Educational System for five years. Before that, she was a stay-at-home mom. Heidi received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marriage and Family Studies with a minor in University Studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She has held a variety of church callings including Stake and Ward Young Women’s President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Relief Society Counselor, and Nursery Leader.

Some of Heidi’s hobbies include running both marathons and half marathons, riding in the LOTOJA relay (a bike race spanning from Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming), hiking, working in her yard, waterskiing, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Heidi feels very blessed that her career allows her to teach about Jesus Christ every day. She loves the Savior and loves teaching the youth and young adults about Him.
