About Jim

I grew up in southern California and southern Utah, I graduated from Hurricane High in 1988 and then served a mission in England Coventry. In the early 90s I attended Dixie college where I found my bride, Chanon Romberger, and started a family. I graduated from SUU with a BS in Biology and was hired to teach seminary in Ephrata and Quincy Washington for 8 years. I returned to Utah in 2004 to Brigham City where I have taught seminary for 16 years and picked up a Masters in education. We have 5 children. Interests/hobbies: I have worked as an auto mechanic, park ranger/wild-land fire fighter, and Firearms safety instructor. My favorite two things to do are spend time with my family, and teaching and learning the gospel. I also love fishing, hunting, hiking and backpacking. My favorite kinds of hiking are slot canyoneering and alpine lake hopping (flyfishing). I love being a part of other people’s lives and learning and sharing all the different perspectives and experiences that we have.
