About The Hills
Sister Hill was raised in Riverside, UT (only 249 people!) by goodly parents whose ancestors settled that town and have farmed it since 1896. She loved her home and childhood, but like George Bailey, she couldn’t wait to get away and do big things, so she left 6 days after graduating from high school. She went to BYU where she earned an associate degree in nursing and then worked at LDS Hospital while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. After graduating she served in the California San Diego Mission as a Spanish speaking missionary. Upon returning she worked for the Bear River Health District as a public health nurse in Logan for four years before attending graduate school at the University of Washington.
Her first quarter at the University of Washington she met someone (Bro. Hill) at a stake Messiah performance, but he didn’t get her phone number so he couldn’t call her up to ask her out! Luckily, later that quarter she met him again at an Institute dance–and this time he got her phone number! Bro. Hill called her up a few days later, they started dating, and were married the next summer. Sister Hill loves history, learning about other cultures, reading, theater, and traveling.
Bro. Hill was raised in Seattle, WA. He is a convert to the Church, joining during his senior year of high school. After he graduated, he did time in the Marine Corps, went on a mission to Spain, attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate and graduate degrees in pharmacy, and later got an MBA at the University of Utah. He worked in research & development in the pharmaceutical industry for his career. Bro. Hill loves backpacking, visiting national parks, and doing most anything outdoors.
They have moved nine times since they were married, living in various places in Washington state, Indiana, Utah, Missouri, and New Jersey, learning a lot about remodeling homes! Brother and Sister Hill have three children. The oldest, Aaron, studied computer science and lives in Salt Lake. The middle child, Maren, graduated with a degree in landscape architecture from Cal Poly but works in supply chain management and lives in Jersey City, NJ. The youngest, Alison, graduated from BYU with a degree in art history and lives in Vineyard, UT.
